What's Included

A streamlined, precise colour appointment:

  • Personal colour consultation and shade mapping.
  • Bespoke foil placement through your parting, hairline and crown.
  • Lightening or colour woven to suit your hair texture and density.
  • Toner or gloss where needed to refine shade and add shine.

Who It's For

If you want noticeable brightness without an all-over colour, half head foils deliver lift exactly where it shows, keeping the rest natural for depth and movement.

A smart choice for blending first greys, refreshing grown-out highlights or adding extra lightness to balayage while maintaining dimension. Expect a polished, effortless finish that works for workdays and weekends.

Suitable for fine to thick, straight or curly hair. Section size and placement are adapted to your hairline, parting and face shape for a flattering, easy-care result.

Duration & Appointment Timing

Allow 45 to 60 minutes for the colour work. Processing times vary based on starting shade and goal.

If you are adding a toner, cut or blow-dry, please book extra time. Arrive with dry hair styled as you normally wear it to guide placement.

Aftercare & Maintenance

To maintain tone and shine, book a gloss or toner at 4 to 6 weeks and refresh foils every 8 to 12 weeks depending on contrast and regrowth.

Use sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo and conditioner, a weekly hydrating mask and heat protection when styling.

Blondes can use a purple shampoo once a week to control warmth. Rinse after swimming and protect hair from strong sun to keep your colour clear and bright.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between half head and full head foils?
Half head targets the top and sides to brighten your parting and face, leaving the back natural for depth. Full head treats the whole head for maximum lightness and minimal natural depth. We will advise which suits your goals.
Will half head foils cover grey hair?
Foils blend and soften greys by breaking up solid regrowth, but they do not give opaque coverage. For 100% coverage, add a root tint or combine foils with a smudge or shadow. We will recommend the best option at consultation.
Do I need a toner with half head foils?
Often, yes. A toner refines tone, neutralises warmth and adds shine, especially for cleaner, cooler blondes. We will decide together after rinsing based on how your hair lifts.
How long will it take and how long will it last?
The colour work typically takes 45 to 60 minutes, with extra time for toner, cut or blow-dry. Expect to refresh foils every 8 to 12 weeks, with a gloss or toner at 4 to 6 weeks to maintain tone and shine.
Do I need a skin test?
A skin test may be required at least 48 hours before if a toner or root tint is planned. We will confirm this when you book to keep your service safe and seamless.
